France offers some really great places to visit as well as fantastic food! So to put all this together we have put a list of the top 10 places you MUST visit on your holiday to France.

Mont Saint-Michel

Taking the Boat from the UK to North France? well then you should definitely stop off here!

This small tidal island located just off the coast of Normandy has a spectacular and well-preserved Norman Benedictine Abbey of St Michel, stands on the peak of the rocky island, surrounded by the winding streets and has the architecture of a medieval town.

Mont Saint-Michel is a top place to visit and a fantastic place to spend a day with other activities such as its famous biscuit making factories where you can spend a few hours tasting and seeing how they make their cookies! Spending the day riding horses is also something a lot of people tend to do here to get the perfect view of its island in all its glory!

Dune of Pyla

Located in Arcachon Bay area, the dune of Pyla is the largest sand dune in Europe. At the top of the dune the view is one of a kind surrounded by the Atlantic coast and the inlet of the bay on the side and a large pine forest on the other, be sure to take a pick-nick and take in that view!

Chateau de Chambord

This chateau is the second most visited in France after (Versailles) and is a masterpiece of the French Renaissance. The chateau was constructed in 1519 by King Francois so he was able to go hunting in the nearby forests. The Chateau has a massive 440 rooms!

Gorge du Verdon

The Gorge du Verdon is a 15 mile long canyon which rises up above a spectacular 2,300 feet on each side! Named after its emerald coloured water makes this gorge a place full of water activities from rafting, kayaking, sailing and water skiing.


Wanting to have a go at skiing or snowboarding? Then this famous resort in the French Alps at the foot of Mont Blanc was the site of the first winter Olympic games in 1924 and offers up a spot like no other to enjoy that fresh dusting of snow and slopes!

Eiffel Tower

The symbol of France and Paris and also being one of the top tourist attractions in France this is a place you must put at the top of the list of places to visit! Arc de Triomphe

Being not far from the Eiffel Tower this is an easy and fast place to visit while in Paris, the Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle and surrounded by high end luxury shopping, this is a place to take a few hours off visit the monument and take a gander around the shops.

Palais des Papes

One of the largest and most important Gothic buildings in the world, the Palais des Papes (Pope’s Palace) was built back when Pope Clement V abandoned Rome in 1309 and settled in Avignon. The palace has 10 foot thick walls and watchtowers making it look like a castle!

Ile d’Yeu
